Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3 pay-per-view will be officially handled by HBO

HBO Sports
After weeks of continues discussions, Michael Marley of the Examiner finally reports that an announcement will be  probably released on Wednesday or Thursday, regarding the statement of Top Rank CEO Bob Arum that HBO officially won the bid as the pay-per-view carrier of the upcoming Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3 fight on November 12, 2011. Arum also stated that the network who will win the rights to Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3 Rematch would also be getting the Cotto vs. Margarito rematch pay-per-view on December 3. HBO's win for the bid doesn't surprise me anymore. Recently, Ross Greenburg has let go as the HBO Sports President and despite his denials, it was clear that letting Showtime handle the May 7 pay-per-view  fight of Manny Pacquiao against Sugar Shane Mosley had broke his chances to continue his legacy on HBO Sports. HBO's offer for Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3 was described by Arum as "truly a blockbuster, well thought out." It simply means that HBO would be working on other media  like TV's and magazines to promote the Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3, which lessens the chances for Showtime to win the bid. Showtime made a great decision of stealing Pacquiao from HBO earlier this year, but I guess HBO realized how much they lose if they let Pacquiao slip to Showtime again. They made several mistakes recently and I'm pretty sure that they're not going to make the same mistake again.
